Look no further! AgeSpan will be putting together a new concept that we like to call our AgeSpan Buddy program.

What Is An AgeSpan Buddy?

An AgeSpan Buddy^SM is a senior volunteer that AgeSpan, Inc. will recruit to provide a 'first line' of technical assistance to our members. Folks living in retirement communities and wanting to learn more about Personal Computers and the Internet can greatly benefit from having a friend to call.

You can be that friend!

First time users of their computers will call on their friendly AgeSpan Buddy rather than calling a distant technical support person. 'Talking to one of your own' makes for a more enjoyable and less intimidating experience.

The AgeSpan Buddy system removes much of the fear new users have when trying to understand something new.

Who Can Be An AgeSpan Buddy?

AgeSpan Buddies will be recruited from retirement centers' computer clubs as well as volunteers who have some experience using a computer and/or knowledge of the Internet. A Buddymay also have additional skills in teaching or training, be multi-lingual, and live close to a retirement community.

Potential candidates for AgeSpan Buddies may come from the 30,000+ volunteers active in the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

Would I get paid for being a Buddy?

AgeSpan Buddies are unpaid volunteers, but the rewards are terrific! We will have some compensation in the form of gift certificates or discount coupons from some of our many sponsors.

But the greatest reward will be the new friends you make and the satisfaction you will get from helping someone 'get over the bumps'.
